In the National Honor Society, we are dedicated to giving back to the community what it has given to us. Through hard work, dedication, and commitment, we aim to provide a better community for those in it.
NHS Applicants range from sophomores to seniors, who submit their application in spring of the school year. The NHS will accept applicants with excellent academic and social qualifications, after careful review by a five-member faculty council. If selected, NHS inductees will be invited to an inaugural ceremony in fall of the forthcoming school year, and officially be a part of the National Honor Society.

The NHS takes part in a variety of community service and community outreach programs.
Four times a year, the East Ridge NHS and Student Council partner with the American Red Cross to host school-wide blood drives, where generous donors can help saves the lives of thousands of patients nationwide.

How to Join NHS
The 2024-2025 application will open on February 19th and close on March 15th.
Membership in the National Honor Society is based upon excellence in four areas:
Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character
To be eligible for membership a student must have and be able to maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.800 or above for their high school years.
In order to evaluate a student’s leadership, character, and service abilities, each potential member is required to provide information describing his/her abilities, activities, and interests. The applications will be accepted via Google Classroom this year. Please make a copy of the application, fill out the required written portion and cut and paste the other requirements as stated on the template. To submit your application:
Applicants will be notified in April, and will officially join NHS in the fall with the start of the next school year (i.e. apply as a freshman in March/April, and join as a sophomore in September/October ). Returning members already in NHS do not have to apply again.

- Submit your application with required documentation into the Google classroom folder
- Your application MUST be computer generated
- Be grammatically and mechanically correct
- Convey the desire and commitment to becoming an ACTIVE National Honor Society member
- Please realize that if you are committing to zero hour or PSEO this does not exempt you from being an active member in NHS
